- 250 gr butter
- powder sugar
- 100 gr chocolate
instructions
- Beat the egg whites with half the sugar until stiff
- Melt the butter (don't cook it)
- Beat the melted butter with the other half of the sugar
- Add egg yolks
- Mix the flour with the baking powder and add it to the mix
- Add the zest to the mix
- Gently fold the mix with the egg whites
- Butter and flour the backing form
- Pour the mix into the form (24cm - ring form)
- Bake at 160C for about 1 hour and 20 minutes. After the first hour passes check regularly with a knife not to over-bake it.
- Melt the chocolate and draw the decoration on baking paper (see below for instructions).
- Once the cake is cold, sprinkle the powder sugar on top and decorate with the chocolate trees and year numbers.
This is how you prepare the ingredients:
This is how your cake should look like after baking:
Melt the chocolate and pour it into the pipette.
This is how you make the pipette, don't over fill it!
This is how you draw the trees and year numbers:
Don't turn the cake upside down, you need the risen part to create the snowed mountain effect :)
