Chocolate volcano explosion

It can't get more chocolaty than this! These small volcanos take about 30 minutes to make, including baking time!

I first saw this recipe in a magazine, but I have expirimented and fine-tuned it to make sure they are successful!

Chocolate volcano explosion

ingredients
  • 125 gr pure chocolaterie
  • 125 gr butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg-yolks
  • 60 gr sugar
  • 20 gr flour
  • Extra butter and flower for the mini cake forms

instructions
  1. Melt the chocolate and butter in low fire.
  2. Whisk the eggs with the sugar until white.
  3. Add the flour to the eggs mix.
  4. Add the melted chocolate bit by bit, while using the whisker.
  5. Butter the forms and cover with a thin layer of flour.
  6. Pour the mix in 4 mini cake forms.
  7. Bake in 230C for 6-8 minutes.
  8. Let them cool down for 2 minutes and serve.
Melting chocolate in bain-marie and around 40C is the best way to do it!

You can use a deep plastic jar for whisking the chocolate into the eggs & sugar mix. Then you can pour the mix into the forms easily.

Using butter and flour in the forms will make you cakes come off the form easily.

Fill the forms half way, that chocolate is about to explode and it needs all the room ;)

You can keep the forms in the fridge for max two days before baking. Remember to take them out three hours before baking them.

Two minutes after baking, use a plate to flip the cake over. Don't force it, you can us a knife to detach the sides of the cake from the form.

Best served with vanilla ice cream and raspberries ;)
